Church Green

This is an extensive tree-lined green space offering interaction with nature in the midst of an urban area. It is a haven for wildlife, including hedgehogs, owls and a variety of birds. We are currently working to ‘rewild’ the space and have been grateful to Northumberland Wildlife Trust who recently re-laid our beech hedge to make it more wildlife friendly. Future plans include planting additional trees and bulbs and creating further habitats for wildlife.

The Green has also proved an invaluable focus for outdoor events and services during recent Covid constraints. We hold a regular Farmers’ Market, outdoor concerts and family events.
